Konsep Bluetooth

Bluetooth dan wireless LAN keduanya merupakan teknologi komunikasi wireless yang memanfaatkan gelombang radio 2.4 Ghz.
Namun keduanya dirancang untuk pemanfaatan yang berbeda dan dapat hidup berdampingan satu sama lain.

Bluetooth seperti juga WIFI (dikenal sebagai wireless LAN) menggunakan frekuensi radio 2.4 Ghz, namun dengan daya yang jauh lebih kecil.

Daya jangkau bluetooth 100 meter untuk kelas 1, sedangkan pada umumnya hanya 10 meter saja.

Perbedaan WIFI dengan bluetooth adalah bluetooh memungkinkan koneksi antar perangkat elektronik apa saja, bukan hanya komputer.

Bluetooth dapat digunakan untuk membentuk PAN atau Personal Area Network antara perangkat-perangkat yang digunakan oleh seseorang (komputer, ponsel/handphone, printer, PDA, kamera, barcode reader, vending machine dan bahkan perangkat audio atau video.
